North Korea’s Naegohyang beat Japan’s Tokyo Verdy Beleza 1-0 to win the AFC Women’s Champions League.
Naegohyang secured the title on May 23 at Suwon Sports Complex, lifting the trophy after a tight final.
In the 44th minute, Jung Geum launched a counter, drove into the left side of the box and delivered a cross. Kim Kyung-young converted with a right-footed shot for the match-winner.
The victory earned Naegohyang about 1.5 billion KRW (roughly $1,125,000) and a spot in next January’s FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.
