‘GoyangCon-Trip’ themed pavilion opens at Hanul Plaza
Goyang City in Gyeonggi Province is rolling out a fresh tourism model designed to turn K-concert attendees into visitors who explore the whole city.
Goyang announced on the 23rd that it will operate an official promotional pavilion called “GoyangCon-Trip” at Hanul Plaza in Ilsan Lake Park for 17 days, from the 24th through May 10.
GoyangCon-Trip is meant to stop concertgoers from leaving after just the big shows at venues like Goyang Sports Complex or KINTEX. Instead, it nudges them toward three experience tracks—Star, Beauty, and Food—to encourage longer stays. “GoyangCon” is a coined term positioning Goyang as a hub for K-concerts.
The pavilion features a GTX-A train–inspired exterior blended with playful GoyangCon illustrations. Inside, it highlights the city’s signature streets and main attractions so visitors can get a vivid, immersive taste of what Goyang has to offer.
The city is also hosting a chroma-key photo booth and a playful “Catch 16 Seconds” challenge, inspired by the GTX-A’s 16-minute ride between Seoul Station and KINTEX Station. Visitors can join all events by visiting the Goyang One-Pick site and following the city’s social media channels.
Park Hyun-gak, head of Goyang’s PR Planning Team, said, “The pavilion will act as a gateway to showcase Goyang’s unique blend of performances, tourism and food to visitors who come to the Goyang International Flower Exhibition from across the country.”
