Large living rooms are increasingly being treated less as shared family areas and more as private lounges and places to recharge. Enex, led by CEO Park Jin-gyu, has responded with three new motion sliding sofas (photo) designed so users can tailor their shape and function to different lifestyles.
Unlike conventional sliding sofas, the new models dispense with wheels to address structural limitations. Instead of rolling on casters, they use a “hovering” sliding system that remains fully separated from the floor. Enex says that lets owners put rugs or mats beneath the sofa without snagging.
Company representatives say the design also makes under-sofa cleaning easier—including with robot vacuums—helping maintain a more comfortable living room. With exposed legs, the sofas offer a visual openness that can make a space feel larger.
The included remote controls eight precise movements with a single button, so users don’t have to navigate complex controls. Enex says owners can shift among four configurations: ▷ “sofa” — seats tucked in to maximize open space ▷ “couch” — expand only the sections you need ▷ “cafe” — place a table between seats ▷ “bed” — extend fully to use like a bed.
All three models feature tilting headrests that adjust to body shape and posture. The armrests hide storage compartments for remotes and small items, and stainless-steel cup holders help keep drinks at temperature—part of a suite of small conveniences aimed at everyday use.
The company said living rooms are increasingly being customized as home theaters or home cafes to reflect personal tastes, and that these motorized sliding sofas let users reconfigure their space accordingly.
