[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] BTS turned Stanford Stadium into a sea of Taegukgi, the South Korean flag.
BTS staged \”BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN STANFORD\” at Stanford Stadium in the U.S. for three nights — on the 16th, 17th and 19th (local time) — drawing roughly 152,000 fans.
Tickets sold out immediately. Strong demand from fans prompted organizers to add a show, which also sold out quickly, resulting in a perfect sellout across all three performances.
Notably, BTS became only the second act, after Coldplay, to headline a solo concert at Stanford Stadium, which opened in 1921 — a demonstration of the group’s global standing in the live-music market.
On the final night, a surprise fan event moved the members deeply. During the performance of \”Body to Body,\” a track from their fifth studio album \”ARIRANG,\” the melody of the folk song \”Arirang\” rose through the stadium. Audience members simultaneously lifted pre-arranged Taegukgi flags and sang along in Korean, producing a stirring tableau.
Near the end of the show, the members said, \”We’re experiencing the best moments of our lives right now. We were truly touched by the event you prepared. We’ll remember every single moment. We want to thank you and promise we’ll meet again.\”
