[News Culture reporter Noh Gyumin] The series’ expanded universe has drawn together an impressive cast. The K-action superhero drama \”Moving,\” which sparked a global sensation, has begun production on Season 2.
Season 2 follows powered individuals who returned to ordinary life after the Jeongwon High School incident, only to face a new threat that forces them to fight once more to protect the people they love. Writer Kang Full—who combined genre elements and humanism to craft the original \”Moving\” and \”The Lighting Shop\”—returns to pen the third installment, promising another story with global appeal.

Director Kim Seong-hun—who helped globalize K-series with \”Kingdom\”—will helm the new season, promising a rhythmic, stylish visual approach that blurs the line between fantasy and reality to deepen immersion. Returning from Season 1 are fan favorites Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Jo In-sung, Cha Tae-hyun, Ryu Seung-bum, Go Yoon-jung, Kim Do-hoon, Kim Sung-kyun, Shim Dal-gi, Moon Sung-keun, Kim Jong-soo, Park Byung-eun, Kim Shin-rok, Lee Ho-jung, Park Gwang-jae, Kim Guk-hee, Kim Hee-won, Shin Jae-hwi, and Park Han-sol. They will be joined by newcomers Won Gyu-bin, Seol Kyung-gu, Lee Hee-joon, Ryu Hye-young, Noh Yoon-seo, Kim Sung-kyu, Kim Gun-woo, and Choi Yoon-ji, creating high expectations for dynamic ensemble chemistry.
Notably, rising actor Won Gyu-bin joins Season 2 in the much-loved role of Kim Bong-seok. Born out of his 2025 debut in the drama \”Cheongdam International High School 2,\” Won has already impressed audiences with steady performances, and producers expect him to infuse the new season with fresh energy.
Carol Choi, EVP and Head of Original Content Strategy for The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific, said, \”‘Moving’ showed how powerful Korean storytelling—rooted in strong emotional arcs—can be when presented on a larger scale to audiences worldwide. For Season 2, we hope to build on that success, working closely with our creative partners to further expand the ‘Moving’ universe for fans across the globe.\”
Writer Kang Full thanked the cast and crew for their collaboration, saying, \”I’m grateful to everyone who joined us. I hope we can make an even better work.\” Director Kim Seong-hun added that Season 2 exists because of the production team behind the much-loved first season and promised the team will pursue a range of new creative experiments.
Season 1 of \”Moving\” became the most-watched Korean original series during its first week on Hulu in the United States. It also ranked as the most-watched series in its first week on Disney+ across the Asia-Pacific region, including Korea. The show’s acclaim continued in awards season: it received a nomination for Best Foreign-Language Series at the 29th Critics’ Choice Awards and won multiple honors at the 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards, picked up two series awards at the 59th Daejong Film Awards, earned the most wins in the TV category at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards, and dominated the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards—cementing its status as one of 2023’s standout works.
