Bride toppling the groom[Source=ettoday.net][Source=ettoday.net]
A newlywed couple in China staged a pro-wrestling match at their wedding, a stunt that quickly went viral online. On May 16, the South China Morning Post reported that earlier this month Chinese pro wrestler Heo In-seong and his wife had installed a wrestling ring in a local hotel and held an unconventional ceremony for their guests. A large screen flashed a “Groom vs. Bride” poster, giving the event the atmosphere of a professional wrestling show. The bride and groom each put together teams and faced off in a best-of-three series, with the loser agreeing to take on household chores for life. Toward the end of the program, the couple climbed into the ring themselves; the bride toppled the groom onto the mat and secured the victory.

The referee declared the bride the winner, shouting, “The bride is exempt from household chores for life,” as guests erupted in cheers and applause. Heo told local media, “Of course I had to lose in the end. I couldn’t very well make my wife do housework, could I?” He added that when wedding costs rose beyond their expectations, they opted to use his wrestling act as the reception entertainment instead of hiring singers or performance troupes. About 300 guests attended, and clips of the match spread rapidly across Chinese social platforms; some viewers quipped, “I want to buy a ticket,” while others suggested the couple should take the show on a national tour. #China #Newlyweds #ProWrestling #Wedding #Housework Yonhap News TV — For inquiries and tips: KakaoTalk/LINE jebo23 Nam Yuna (yunanam@yna.co.kr)
