[SPOTV News = Reporter Park Dae-seong] Bruno Fernandes reached 20 assists in a single Premier League season — joining an exclusive club of just three players to ever do so — and he did it at home.
On May 17 (KST), the Premier League office announced, “Bruno Fernandes has set a record.” Bryan Mbeumo converted Fernandes’ pass into a goal, tying the record for most assists in a single Premier League season.
To mark the milestone, the Premier League listed “A (assist)” 20 times, highlighting Fernandes’ tie for the all-time single-season assists record.
European football journalist Fabrizio Romano celebrated the achievement: “Bruno Fernandes has reached 20 assists in the Premier League this season. Only three players in Premier League history have achieved this: Bruno Fernandes, Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry. It’s a truly legendary record.”

Fernandes started for Manchester United in the 37th round of the 2025–26 Premier League season at Old Trafford against Nottingham Forest. He floated a right-wing cross that Bryan Mbeumo finished, and United secured a 3–1 victory.
The run to 20 assists wasn’t straightforward. Before Mbeumo’s goal, he sent a shot over the bar, and the BBC noted: “When Mbeumo skyed his effort, Bruno Fernandes buried his face in the turf as if he feared the historic assist would never come.”
The BBC added that Mbeumo had also struck the post in the first half — a missed chance that could have ended his goal drought dating back to Feb. 7 — but the breakthrough eventually came. Teammates rushed to celebrate with Fernandes, who set up the goal, as United marked the historic moment.
