Meet the ‘World’s Safest Taxi’: A Daughter’s Heartfelt Review of Her Retired Police Officer Dad

When her father — a retired police officer — took a job driving a taxi, his daughter made a handmade notice to display in the cab.
A post titled ‘The Safest Taxi in the World’ recently went viral on social media and online forums.
The post included interior photos of the cab showing a sign that read ‘The Safest Taxi in the World.’
A sign mounted behind the front seat introduced him as a veteran who spent 37 years with the police before retiring, and it included a photo of him in uniform.
Riders were particularly amused by a section called “Driver’s Honest Review (Daughter ver.),” written by his daughter. She playfully rated his driving and character, revealing her affection.

Her review gave five stars for ride comfort — “I’ve never gotten motion sickness in Dad’s car” — five stars for safety — “Former police officer: no running red lights or speeding, ever” — and five stars for honesty — “Can’t fool him on directions; he won’t lie” — signaling strong trust in the driver.
She docked him one point on friendliness (four stars), joking that he’s kind to passengers but nags his daughter, and awarded three stars for “dad jokes,” quipping they’re “a bit too serious,” which drew laughs.
At the bottom, the notice warns that meeting a rude driver might prompt “corrective comments,” and it closes with a cheeky plea: “Praise this and I’ll get my allowance.”
Online commenters responded warmly, saying things like, “A former cop behind the wheel — he’ll sober up drunk passengers on the spot,” “The daughter’s thoughtfulness is so touching,” and “I’d trust this taxi for a long trip.”
