In a Gwangju apartment complex, a luxury SUV has repeatedly blocked the entrance to an underground garage, raising safety concerns among residents.
Photos posted to an online community show a Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagen) parked at the top of the garage’s descending lane, its position encroaching on the pedestrian walkway.

The vehicle occupied a large portion of the garage entrance, impeding other cars trying to pass.
The resident who posted the photos wrote, “They park like this whether it rains or snows. I really want to know why they think this is acceptable.” They added, “If you park like this, shouldn’t you at least move your car when another spot opens up?”
The white G-Wagen in the photo straddled the garage entrance and the pedestrian boundary on the right, encroaching heavily into the left downward lane and narrowing the route for incoming vehicles.
Drivers using the underground garage must now cross the center line to get through the constricted lane. Because the spot sits on a blind curve, the risk of a collision is higher.
The resident said, “They must not feel any shame. Every time I go down to the garage I’m afraid an accident will happen.” They added, “If something does occur, who will be held responsible? I hope the car owner doesn’t let their nice vehicle give them a bad reputation.”
Readers who saw the post suggested installing a bollard there, called the behavior selfish and asked whether it could be reported as sidewalk parking.
