On May 6, tvN’s You Quiz on the Block featured Hyoyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung of Girls’ Generation.
The three have recently attracted attention as the unit Hyori-su and confessed they were disappointed by how few singing parts they had. Hyoyeon recalled that, rather than getting vocal lines, she was often assigned to dance during past performances. Sooyoung said that in earlier broadcast appearances she and Hyoyeon divided the limited vocal parts between them.
Sooyoung said she wishes she had practiced more as a trainee, noting that the role she was given back then stayed with her for about 20 years. \”When I look at the part assignments, I get really disappointed,\” she said. She added that she made an ambitious bid for a singing part but ended up with another rap section instead.
All three expressed confidence in their singing. \”We sing well,\” they said. Hyoyeon said the show would name a lead vocalist before the episode aired, and a member vote ultimately selected Hyoyeon as the main vocal.
