I.O.I Celebrates 10th Anniversary: What to Expect from Their New Mini Album ‘I.O.I: LOOP’?

[Sports Seoul | Reporter Choi Seung-seop] I.O.I.’s teaser for the new single commemorating the group’s 10th anniversary is drawing notable attention.

On May 6, I.O.I. released the teaser for \”Suddenly,\” the title track from their third mini-album, I.O.I : LOOP.

The clip unfolds in soft pastel hues. In one scene, Jeon So-mi approaches Kim Do-yeon, who is leaning against a wall, and kisses her without hesitation. Kim then collapses to the floor in apparent shock, producing a taut, unsettling moment.

That day, Kim Do-yeon shared behind-the-scenes details of the sequence on a fan platform.

Kim said, \”Originally, the storyboard called for a cute cheek slap. I suggested changing it to a kiss because I felt a kiss would better convey the song’s emotion.\” She added that the scene required several retakes during filming.

For the 10th-anniversary activities, the group will perform as a nine-member unit, with Kang Mina and Joo Kyulkyung absent. After several previous reunion attempts fell through, members rearranged personal schedules and committed fully to this comeback.

I.O.I. will officially release the mini-album I.O.I : LOOP on May 19 at 6 p.m. The group will then kick off an Asia tour with a three-day solo concert at Seoul’s Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium from May 29 through 31. thunder@sportsseoul.com
