[Sports Seoul | Park Jin-up] Rapper BewhY announced on May 1 that he will close Dejavu Group, the hip-hop label he founded.

In a post on his social media, he wrote, “I will end the activities of my label, Dejavu Group, which I founded in 2017.” In a lengthy message, he candidly laid out 10 years of struggles in music and the difficulties he faced running the label.

“I believed I could do it and even tasted success, but life didn’t go as I expected,” he wrote. “Business, relationships and even my inner convictions moved in directions very different from what I had planned.” He acknowledged that he had been afraid to confront his mistakes: “I had to face that my choices were foolish and wrong. I feared that failure would follow, but now I’ll face it. I failed.”

He said he has come to understand his own limits and decided to let go of the things he had been holding onto, explaining that closing the label was a weighty choice. He emphasized that the decision was not taken lightly and that he accepts full responsibility, offering both thanks and apologies to the artists and fans who supported him.

Since launching Dejavu Group in 2017, BewhY signed notable artists including Kundi Panda, Biang and Son Simba, helping the label carve out a distinct place in the hip-hop scene.
