Imsil County is hosting the pet-culture festival Imsil N PetStar at the Osu Uigyeon Tourist Site from May 1–3. This year they’ve moved the venue and added international-caliber competitions to broaden the lineup.
The festival runs in tandem with the 41st Osu Uigyeon Cultural Festival and centers on interactive events: pet talk shows, a fashion show, agility contests, and grooming competitions.
On the talk-show stage, Professor Lee Woong-jong, veterinarian Seol Chae-hyun, and trainer Kang Hyung-wook will take turns discussing behavior modification and pet health with the audience.
Group VOS will join the judging panel for the pet fashion show.
New this year is an FCI-sanctioned agility competition. May 2 features amateur rounds, while May 3 hosts a national qualifier followed by an internationally recognized event. Dogs and their handlers will race through obstacle courses, competing for speed and precision.
Hands-on offerings have been expanded, too. Attendees can try dog aromatherapy, make DIY pet food, take part in a Pet Olympics, and craft pet ID tags—practical activities geared to everyday pet owners. There’s also a pet-friendly train package called the DaengDaeng Train to draw visitors from outside the area.
The site will include a pet playground and dedicated rest areas. Local vendors will showcase regional specialties, including hanwoo (Korean beef) and cheese.
