[MyDaily = Reporter Kim Geon-ho] Barcelona has its eye on several Tottenham Hotspur players, sources say.
UK outlet SportsBible reported on April 29 that uncertainty over Tottenham’s Premier League status has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Tottenham sit 18th in the Premier League with 8 wins, 10 draws and 16 losses, totaling 34 points. Their 2026 form has been poor. On April 25 they earned a 1-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers — their first league victory of the year. In the previous 15 matches they managed six draws and nine defeats.
Spurs have four games remaining. They must overtake 17th-place West Ham United, who have 36 points, in those final matches to avoid relegation. If they go down, it would be the club’s first relegation since the start of the Premier League era.
If relegation happens, many clubs are expected to target Tottenham players. One club reportedly monitoring them is Barcelona.

SportsBible says relegation would activate significant wage-cut clauses, making it difficult for the club to hold on to key players. Citing Spain’s Diario Sport, the outlet reports Barcelona is tracking five Tottenham players, including center-back pairing Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.
Van de Ven and Romero are Spurs’ starting center-backs, but both have been linked with moves throughout the season. Relegation would likely add momentum to those rumors.
SportsBible notes van de Ven’s ball-playing ability makes him a standout prospect for Barcelona — a player they reportedly see as a potential partner for Pau Cubarsí next season.
Alongside van de Ven and Romero, Barcelona has also been linked with Lucas Bergvall, Pedro Porro and Xavi Simons.

But Simons suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in the Wolves match and will be sidelined for an extended period. That makes a pre-season transfer unlikely.
Still, SportsBible reports Barcelona continue to monitor him despite expectations he will be out until around Christmas. The outlet added that losing all five of these players at once would be a stark symbol of Tottenham’s disastrous season.
