[MyDaily = Shim Hye-jin in Jamsil] The Samsung Lions finally ended a seven-game slide, and manager Jin-man Park had high praise for his players.
On April 28 at Seoul’s Jamsil Stadium, Samsung edged the Doosan Bears 5-4 in 10 innings in a 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League game.
The win snapped a seven-game skid and was the Lions’ first victory in eight games.
The standout was Kim Seong-yun, returning from injury. Batting second and starting in right field, Kim finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
On the mound, starter Hurado was dominant: seven scoreless innings, six hits allowed, no walks and seven strikeouts.
After the game, Park praised Hurado’s outing, saying he dominated through seven shutout frames without issuing a walk. “He may not have picked up the win, but he showed again that he’s a cornerstone of our rotation,” Park said.
Park also applauded Kim’s all-around contribution. “Back from injury, Kim made decisive plays at the plate, in the field and on the bases. It’s not an exaggeration to say his performance ended our losing streak,” he added.
He closed by acknowledging the pressure the skid had placed on the club, but expressed confidence that the victory will help the players relax and play more freely moving forward.
