[Sports Seoul | Reporter Seung-kwan Baek] As esports has evolved into a sport of concentration, the factors that shape a player’s performance have become more precise. At the center of that shift is one simple thing: how you sit. For pro players logging long, intense sessions, a chair is not just furniture — it’s performance equipment.
Sidiz, a seating-solutions specialist, has relaunched its GX gaming chair to meet that demand. The headline change is an innovative backrest. The new Dual-Tension Support Back features a two-layer mesh with differing tension by zone, clearly separating the upper and lower sections’ roles.
The upper Relax Zone, which contacts the shoulders and upper back, uses flexible Protension mesh to cradle the body and ease muscle tension. The lower Core Zone, where the lumbar sits, is woven densely and firmly to provide built-in lumbar support without extra attachments. The result: posture stays steady during long sessions and immersion holds up even in fast, twitch-heavy games.
The headrest gets an upgrade too. In addition to angle adjustment, it now offers height adjustment for a finer, more customized fit. Sidiz also designed the update so existing GX owners can upgrade with a parts swap, extending product life while improving the user experience.
Sidiz has tested these technical advances in the field. Under an agreement with the Korea e-Sports Association, the company supplies GX and GC PRO chairs to national-team players for training and competition, reinforcing the chair’s standing as the national team’s gaming chair.
Esports’ profile is rising quickly. With esports set to be a medal sport at the 2026 Aichi–Nagoya Asian Games, scrutiny of players’ equipment and competitive environments is increasing.
“A gaming chair is core infrastructure that supports concentration and performance, not just comfort,” an industry source said. “The GX relaunch is the product of refined ergonomic design that accounts for diverse body types and use cases.”
As the lines between work and play blur, demand is growing for a single chair that can serve both worlds. The Sidiz GX answers that lifestyle shift and is reshaping what the sitting experience looks like for everyone from pro athletes to everyday users.
