1,300,000 m² site — 18 of 27 holes now open, poised to become a new public-course standout
Situated in the geographic center of South Chungcheong with excellent access from the Seoul metro area, Daejeon, Sejong, and Naepo
“Yemiji Stay” golf hotel promises stay-and-play packages, primed to become a tourism draw

Cheongyang — Kim Chang-hee

Yemiji Country Club, developed by Haeoreum Housing (CEO Kim Gil-soo), an affiliate of Geumseong Baekjo (Chairman Jeong Seong-uk), celebrated its grand opening on the morning of April 25 and officially opened to the public. About 100 guests attended, including company executives, junior golfer Lee Soo-min (second year, Cheonan Central Correspondence High School), JDX CEO Kim Han-chul, and representatives from roughly 30 partner firms and contractors involved in building the course.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman Jeong Dae-sik said the club aims to become “the new premier golf destination in the central region,” offering upscale relaxation and quality rounds set to the backdrop of Chilgapsan. He added that Yemiji will uphold its brand philosophy and prioritize customer satisfaction, and that the facility is expected to energize Cheongyang’s local economy while encouraging longer stays around Chilgap Lake.

Yemiji CC sits on approximately 1,300,000 m² (about 321 acres) at 268 Jujeon-ro, Daechi-myeon, Cheongyang-gun, at the foothills of Chilgapsan. The public 27-hole course opened 18 holes on April 25; the remaining nine holes are under construction and are scheduled to open this fall.

Attending the opening, junior golfer Lee Soo-min captured the women’s under-21 title at the 17th Paldo Series Asia Grand Final in Da Nang, Vietnam (April 22–24, 2026). A Cheongyang native (Ganam Elementary, Cheongsin Girls’ Middle), Lee is a member of the national reserve team; Geumseong Baekjo has sponsored her since 2021.

Lee said, “I’m so happy to see Yemiji Country Club open in my hometown of Cheongyang, and even more thrilled to be here after winning yesterday’s tournament. I’m grateful to everyone who helped me stay focused on training, and I’ll keep working to improve and deliver strong results.”

Yemiji Country Club marked its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the unveiling of a course marker.

The three courses — Ye, Mi, and Ji — designed by Orange Golf Design (CEO Lee Hyun-gang) showcase meticulous routing that complements the natural terrain and feels deserving of a new elite destination.

The Ye course emphasizes the rich rhythm of the Chilgapsan ridgeline, delivering dramatic visuals and dynamic play by making bold, strategic use of natural slopes and contours. The Mi course demands strategic shots across valleys and water, where courageous downhill plays and the pressure of crossing ponds reward precise shot-making. The Ji course embraces Chilgapsan’s silhouette like a garden, following gentle rolling hills to offer wide-open views and a serene, unified experience between the player and the landscape. Turf selections include zoysia for tees, fairways, and roughs; bentgrass for the greens; and Kentucky bluegrass for the green collars.

The clubhouse and golf hotel, “Yemiji Stay,” designed by Kansam Architects, aim to make every moment more beautiful—mirroring the premium Yemiji residential brand. With lyrical landscaping, restrained interiors, and a calm atmosphere, the design helps guests focus on rest. The golf hotel has 34 rooms in total: 16 studio-type doubles and 18 two-room units for four guests. With the May holiday approaching, inquiries about one-night, two-day packages have been strong.

Located in the heart of the Chungcheong inland region, Yemiji CC offers excellent access from major nearby cities, including Daejeon, Sejong, and Gongju, as well as from both northern and southern Chungcheong, North Jeolla, and southern Gyeonggi. To celebrate the April 25 grand opening, the club is offering additional discounts across all tee times through May; patrons can book specific time slots via the club’s website.
