[JoyNews24 reporter Lee Ji-young] Comedian Jo Hye-ryeon opened up about her son, who applied to 40 jobs and was turned down by every one of them.
Jo appeared on the YouTube channel ‘MoneyGraphy’ in a video released on the 23rd.
In the clip, she spent time responding to subscribers’ questions. One viewer confessed, \”I’m unemployed and need a way to lie down without my mom noticing.\”
Jo replied, \”That’s a sight I know well. My younger brother and my son Uju have both done that. Staying home and not working is one thing, but what really gets me is when they just lie down. At the very least, sit up. If you’re truly sorry, stand up,\” she joked.

She went on to say that not being able to find a job isn’t a crime — sometimes there just aren’t places hiring. Uju enrolled in a game planning program that accepted 250 students per year, but then COVID hit. Games were popular then, yet with the rapid rise of AI people stopped playing as much, so there aren’t many jobs in game planning now. That’s why Uju is leaving for another country in three days — he’s headed to Sydney on a working holiday, she explained.
She added, \”I’m not making this up — he applied to 40 places and was rejected by all of them. He’s not to blame.\”
