Relieves late-night travel woes for residents in the northwest
Gyeonggi Province announced it will introduce a new late-night airport bus route linking Paju, Goyang and Incheon International Airport to improve overnight travel for residents who use the airport, beginning the night of the 30th.
The new route originates at Geumchon Station in Paju, stops at five locations in Paju and seven in Goyang, and continues to Incheon International Airport. The first airport-bound bus departs at 10 p.m. on the 30th, and the service will run two round trips overnight.
The province opened the route in response to a surge in travelers using late-night flights after Incheon International Airport moved to 24-hour operations.
Ridership on the province’s existing late-night airport bus lines from eight cities totaled about 113,000 in 2025, roughly a 13% increase from about 100,000 in 2024.
Because Paju, Goyang and other parts of northern Gyeonggi lacked late-night airport buses, travelers often had to rely on expensive taxis or arrive at the airport the night before and wait overnight for early-morning flights.
Gyeonggi Province negotiated with the Airport Corporation to expand late-night service in the northern region and succeeded in opening this route.
If the route runs at a loss, the two agencies will split any necessary financial support 50-50 to ensure stable, sustainable service.
With this addition, the province’s late-night airport bus network grows from nine routes to ten.
