A couple who were caught getting physically intimate in their seats before takeoff on a flight to Spain has been banned from the airline for life. The carrier said it enforces a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior as a family-friendly airline.
On the 22nd (local time), The Daily Star reported that the pair boarded a low-cost Jet2 flight from East Midlands Airport in the U.K. to Gran Canaria and began behaving inappropriately while still on the ground.
A witness told reporters that they and their wife saw explicit movement beneath the man’s pants and, feeling shocked and disgusted, immediately alerted a crew member.
Flight attendants stepped in, and the couple defended themselves, saying it was their first time flying and that they were merely praying to calm their nerves. Nearby passengers found that explanation hard to accept. The outlet said travelers had to endure the awkwardness for the roughly four-hour flight.
After landing, Jet2 had the couple removed from its partner hotel, canceled their return booking, and imposed a lifetime ban on them.
