YouTuber Subingsu has left Korea and made a new home in Da Nang, Vietnam.
On the 20th, Subingsu uploaded a video to his channel titled “Why a YouTuber with 1.28 million subscribers Settled in Southeast Asia.”
In the video, he talked about life in Da Nang. “I wanted to live abroad since I was a kid,” he said. “It’s unfamiliar, but you have to throw yourself into a bigger world to grow.” He added that after visiting many countries, he felt like he was searching for the place best suited to him.
He pointed to the city’s Korean-friendly infrastructure as a big draw. With so many Koreans living there, Da Nang is even nicknamed “Gyeonggi-do Da Nang,” and many locals speak Korean—something that has made him very satisfied.
He also opened up about his health. “I haven’t been feeling well lately. When the temperature dropped, I felt pain and lost a lot of weight. I had a lot of health issues,” he said. “The only places I didn’t gain weight while traveling were Malta and Vietnam. Getting more active cleared my head.”
To subscribers worried about moving abroad alone, he offered reassurance: “I’ve lived abroad solo more than you’d expect. Don’t worry.” He asked viewers to see his move as part of a growth process, explaining, “This was my childhood dream, so I haven’t let it go and have worked hard.”
Subingsu, born in 1992, has 1.28 million subscribers. Last year he appeared on TV Chosun’s Miss Trot 3 and drew attention with a trot show performance titled “Bang-eo Haeche.”
