Goheung County has unveiled a ‘Blue Marine Bicycle Tour’ photo zone at the Geogeum rest area to promote eco-friendly cycling tourism.
The installation gives cyclists and visitors a stylish spot to snap keepsake photos and is designed to showcase the coastal scenery as a fresh local attraction. The county hopes this will raise awareness of its bicycle-tourism brand.
Alongside the photo zone, officials plan to enhance on-route activities and encourage longer stays by partnering with local lodging, restaurants, and specialty-product vendors.
The 2026 Goheung Blue Marine Bicycle Tour kicks off on the 26th around Geogeumdo. About 400 riders will depart from the Kim Il Memorial Gymnasium and pedal roughly 40 km (about 25 miles) along the coastal road.
This year the event moves to spring to highlight seasonal vistas, and organizers will once again return entry fees as local gift certificates. Side programs will include a drone show, a stamp rally, and hands-on local specialty experiences.
The county is positioning the bicycle tour as a flagship attraction for regional tourism.
