Yeongdo District in Busan announced on April 20 that it is recruiting participants for its \”Youth: Give It a Try\” program, designed to make cultural and recreational activities more accessible to young people. The program issues experience vouchers to help participants sample a variety of cultural, artistic and athletic programs.
The district will accept applications through Oct. 20 from 300 residents aged 19 to 39. Eligible applicants must be registered residents of Yeongdo; selected participants will receive a voucher worth up to 30,000 KRW (approximately $22.50).
Participants can choose from offerings at 24 partner venues, including crafts, gardening, tea classes, drawing, bowling and scuba diving. Any costs above the 30,000 KRW (approximately $22.50) voucher must be covered by the participant.
Applications must be submitted by email. The full list of partner venues and usage guidelines are available on the Yeongdo District Office website. For more information, contact the New Growth Strategy and Population & Youth Team.
A Yeongdo District official said the program aims to make cultural and athletic activities part of young people’s everyday lives and hopes it will help reinvigorate local youth culture.
