Kim Sook’s Shocking News: Jeju House Exempted from Cultural Heritage Zone – What’s Next?

Daniel Kim Views

Broadcaster Kim Sook reacted with wry honesty after learning the land around her Jeju home was removed from a national heritage designation.

On April 20, she uploaded a video to her YouTube channel titled ‘Wanna eat Chungmu kimbap in my car? Riverview car-camping log.’ Filmed beside a lake, she updated fans while enjoying a car-camping getaway. Wearing a flashy printed shirt, Kim laughed that she’d dressed a little over the top to mix things up.

Kim directly addressed the recent buzz about her Jeju property. \”You heard, right? My house was removed from Jeju’s cultural heritage list,\” she said, adding that she was so shocked she decided a little car-camping was in order. \”So I came out with a bit of a boho look today,\” she joked, showing how she meets unexpected news with humor.

Earlier reports said the roughly 200-pyeong parcel around Kim’s Jeju home was among the areas slated for removal from the national heritage designation. If officials finalize the adjustment, the property would be exempt from regulations under the Cultural Heritage Protection Act, giving the owner more freedom to repair the house and use the land (about 200 pyeong ≈ roughly 7,117 sq ft).

After sharing her thoughts, Kim moved on to a camp-style mukbang. She’d started prepping early and set out a spread of Chungmu kimbap with seasoned cuttlefish, naengi (shepherd’s purse), and minari pancakes.

Tasting the generous spread, Kim grinned, \”This is so good. You’ve got to try this.\” When the crew complimented the food, she quipped, \”I live to eat,\” prompting laughs. Even as headlines swirled about the changing value of her Jeju property, her relaxed day of camping and comfort food kept fans tuned in.
