[Sports Seoul | Reporter Won Seong-yun] Cruisia, a cruise-booking platform, announced on the 20th that it has launched an MSC Cruise \”Chuseok Special Voyage\” departing Busan Port with no flights for the upcoming 2026 Chuseok holiday.
This offering is designed as a no-fly alternative for travelers trying to avoid the holiday scramble for plane tickets and steep airfare. It sails once on September 23, operating a 5-night, 6-day itinerary that departs Busan, calls at Shanghai, China, and Fukuoka, Japan, then returns to Busan.
Shanghai lets cruise passengers enter without a separate visa, which makes shore excursions easier. Fukuoka also offers fast, convenient connections between the port and downtown, so you can make the most of short port stays.
The voyage will use an ultra-large MSC cruise ship of about 170,000 tons. The ship spans 19 decks and has 2,217 cabins. Onboard amenities include multiple dining venues, outdoor pools, a spa, and a theater. With luggage staying onboard, the trip is especially convenient for families with young children and for those traveling with elderly parents, the company noted.
A Cruisia spokesperson said, \”This product lets Korean travelers visit two destinations that have grown popular recently—Japan and China—without the burden of airfare and fuel surcharges. The travel time can also serve as genuine downtime, making this an efficient choice for family trips over the holiday.\”
Prices start at about ₩1,150,000 (approximately $862.50) for an inside cabin and about ₩1,850,000 (approximately $1,387.50) for a balcony cabin, based on double occupancy. For full schedules and reservations, visit Cruisia’s official website. socool@sportsseoul.com
