Samsung Health–linked pre-event program helps runners build habits to cross the finish line
Samsung Electronics is staging a large-scale customer experience event on a one-of-a-kind running course that winds through Everland’s Lost Valley and Safari World.
Samsung said on the 16th that it will host the running event Galaxy Watch Run @Safari at Everland in Yongin on May 17.
At Galaxy Watch Run @Safari, participants strap on a Galaxy Watch and take on a 4.82 km (about 3.0 miles) route through Everland’s Lost Valley, Safari World and the Rose Garden — a fresh way to explore the watch’s features while you run.
Registration opens on Samsung.com at 10:00 AM on the 17th and runs through 11:59 PM on the 20th. During the same period, Samsung will also operate a lottery-style sign-up for customers who attend Samsung Store running classes.
If you visit Samsung Gangnam, you can try the running studio programs and, through the 20th, enter a roulette-style draw for a chance to win a spot in Galaxy Watch Run @Safari by completing a quick survey.
Anyone aged 14 or older may register and bring one guest. Participation is free, and organizers will announce 1,000 lottery winners on the 24th.
Samsung has designed a program that uses everyday health metrics—like sleep and diet—to create a unique running-prep experience.
Winners will receive step-by-step missions via Samsung Health from the moment they’re selected until the day before the event, helping them prepare for the run.
Participants can try features such as the running coach for level-appropriate training, sleep-type analysis followed by sleep coaching, run-record verification and an antioxidant-index check. These Galaxy Watch8 series and Samsung Health tools are meant to help you build habits that support running.
On race day, former national marathoner and coach Kwon Eun-joo will be on hand to show participants how to train and manage their condition using the Galaxy Watch and Samsung Health.
After crossing the finish line, participants can snap certificate photos that overlay Samsung Health app data—time, distance, pace and speed—to celebrate their achievement.
All finishers will receive a commemorative medal and an Everland pass. Samsung will also honor outstanding performers in the Samsung Health pre-missions and award a best-dressed prize.
Jang So-yeon, vice president and head of Samsung Electronics Korea, said, \”Thanks to last year’s support, we’ve significantly expanded this year’s Galaxy Watch Run @Safari so more customers can enjoy a distinctive running experience. We hope visitors at Everland will enjoy an integrated running experience—from preparation and coaching to record certification—powered by the Galaxy Watch8 series and Samsung Health.\”
