[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] Actor Lee Beom-soo appeared noticeably out of touch with digital technology on My Ugly Duckling.
The April 12 episode of SBS’s variety show My Ugly Duckling featured actor Lee Beom-soo.
Lee’s house felt unusually spacious for a single occupant. He moved through the kitchen with surprising ease, preparing dried pollock soup and mapo tofu with practiced hands. While he cooked, he used a TV-shaped magnifier to watch videos on his phone.
As he ate, he kept murmuring \”mmm\” to himself. When he tried to stream Netflix on the TV, he discovered he’d been logged out after a long period of inactivity. Lee quipped that logging in was his least favorite thing and admitted he didn’t even know what an ID was — a candid, old-school moment.
Describing himself as \”analog,\” Lee handled his banking in person at a branch. A bank employee told him that hardly anyone uses physical passbooks anymore, and Lee proved unfamiliar with app-based transfers and the highway Hi-Pass toll system — clear signs he’s not comfortable with modern tech.
Eventually, Lee enrolled in a computer class. He had trouble typing and only managed to enter his ID and log in with difficulty. He repeatedly peppered the instructor with questions as he slowly worked his way through the lessons.
