[Sports Today reporter Lee Sang-pil] KT Wiz beat the Doosan Bears.
KT defeated Doosan 6-1 on April 12 at Suwon’s KT Wiz Park in a 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League game.
The win pushed KT to 9-4 and gave the Wiz their second straight victory, keeping them tied for first. Doosan fell to 4-1-8 and remained in ninth place.
KT starter Boshili delivered six scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out eight and walking one to earn his third win of the season. He’s now on a 17-inning scoreless streak. Huh Kyung-min led the offense with two hits and two runs, and Han Seung-taek finished with two hits and two RBIs.
Doosan starter Choi Seung-yong absorbed the loss, surrendering five runs (four earned) on five hits over 5.1 innings with two strikeouts and two walks.
KT struck first in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on second and third after Han Seung-taek’s double and Lee Kang-min’s grounder, Choi Won-joon’s sacrifice fly made it 1-0.
In the fifth, KT extended the lead. Following Huh’s hit and Kim Sang-su’s double, a Doosan error produced a run and Choi Won-joon’s infield single added another, pushing the score to 3-0.
On the mound, Boshili was dominant, keeping Doosan scoreless through six innings and preserving KT’s lead.
KT broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth. Ahn Hyun-min drew a walk and advanced on a wild pitch to put runners at first and second with one out, and Jang Sung-woo’s RBI single made it 4-0. After Huh’s double put runners at second and third with two outs, Han Seung-taek’s two-run single extended the lead to 6-0.
With the game in hand, KT turned to its bullpen in the seventh and shut down Doosan’s comeback attempt.
Doosan finally got on the board in the top of the eighth when Yang Eui-ji’s RBI single with one out and runners at first and third made it 6-1, but it wasn’t enough. The game ended in a 6-1 win for KT.
