[Sports Today reporter Lee Sang-pil] Gangwon FC claimed a 2-0 road victory over Daejeon Hana Citizen to pick up back-to-back wins in K League 1.
On April 12 at Daejeon World Cup Stadium, Gangwon beat Daejeon 2-0 in the Hana Bank K League 1 2026 Round 7 match.
The win lifted Gangwon to 2-3-2 (9 points), moving the club into fourth place. Daejeon slipped to three straight losses and remained 11th at 1-3-3 (6 points, 6 goals scored, -2 goal difference).
Gangwon opened the scoring in the 34th minute when Kim Dae-won converted after Ko Young-jun chested down a Lee Yoo-hyun cross into his path and Kim finished with a clean strike.
Momentum stayed with Gangwon, who continued to press and look for a second goal; Daejeon struggled to mount a meaningful response.
With the lead still 1-0, Gangwon settled the result in stoppage time when Kang Jun-hyeok’s cross forced Daejeon defender Kim Moon-hwan into an own goal, making it 2-0. The match ended in Gangwon’s favor.
Meanwhile, FC Anyang and Gimcheon Sangmu played to a 1-1 draw.
Anyang took the lead in the 58th minute when Kim Young-chan headed in from a corner, but Gimcheon equalized in stoppage time through Park Chul-woo, and the game finished 1-1.
Anyang sit ninth at 1-4-2 (7 points). Gimcheon have six draws and one loss (6 points, 6 goals scored, -1 goal difference) and moved ahead of Daejeon on goal difference to climb to 10th.
