[Sports Today reporter Yoon Hye-young] BTS shared their excitement as they kicked off a long-awaited tour.
On April 11, BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook) opened BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG IN GOYANG (hereafter BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG) at the main stadium of the Goyang Sports Complex in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang. The three shows on April 9, 11 and 12 are expected to draw a total of 132,000 fans (about 44,000 per show).
The group launched the set with \”Hooligan,\” \”Aliens\” and \”Run BTS.\”
The members then addressed the crowd. Jungkook referenced the heavy rain during the first performance and said, \”The weather is better today. Are you cold? We’ll warm things up for you.\” V added, \”We’ve done 360-degree shows before. It feels incredible to be surrounded by ARMY.\”
Jimin noted, \”The response tonight feels even stronger. We can hear ARMY’s voices more clearly. We released an album called Arirang after four years, and we’re on our first concert tour in six and a half years. We tried a lot of new approaches with the album and the show, so this kind of stage might feel new to you. We worked hard preparing it, and I hope you enjoy the night.\”
Suga said, \”For this tour, we wanted to show a newer side of ourselves. The staging, the setlist and various elements are experimental, so some parts may feel unfamiliar. Still, please enjoy it until the end.\” Jin pumped up the audience, saying, \”I’ll give my all on stage. ARMY, will you enjoy this with us? If you’re ready to have a great time, shout it out!\”
J-Hope rallied fans: \”ARMY’s energy is great and the weather is perfect—shall we run and play a little more? Put your phones down for a moment, sing with us, jump and enjoy the show.\” Jimin added, \”I want to look into your eyes more,\” and RM closed the moment by urging, \”This moment won’t come back, so please enjoy it with us.\”
