[Sports Today reporter Yoon Hye-young] HYBE Latin America–backed Latin pop group Santos Bravos (SANTOS BRAVOS) spoke about what their activities in Korea mean to them.
On the 10th, Santos Bravos held a media day at HYBE’s Yongsan headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul to mark the start of their Korean promotions.
Santos Bravos is a five-member Latin pop group from HYBE Latin America that debuted on October 21, 2025, after starring in a reality series of the same name. The lineup includes Dru (U.S./Mexico), Caue (Brazil), Alejandro (Peru), Gabi (Puerto Rico) and Kenes (Mexico), reflecting a variety of cultural backgrounds.
The group said they will promote their first EP, DUAL, in Korea.
On what promoting in Korea means to them, Gabi said Santos Bravos is HYBE’s first Latin pop group. “That carries a lot of weight for us,” she said. “Our goal isn’t to be known only in Latin America; we want to be known globally. The Korean market is especially important. HYBE began here, so coming to Korea was a major goal for us. We put in countless hours of practice to get to this moment. While we’re in Korea, we plan to appear on many music shows and carry out a range of other activities. I want to emphasize that we’ve worked very hard to make this trip happen.”
Dru added that the group arrived with excitement and a desire to learn. “This is my first time visiting Korea, and I’m thrilled to be here,” he said. “We came with the mindset of apprentices, eager to learn from the artists who came before us. It would be great to spend time with them and film challenges together. Senior acts like BTS, Cortis, LE SSERAFIM and Ailit have inspired us and helped pave the way in the K-pop world, allowing us to grow. I’m also looking forward to trying Korean food and getting to know the city of Seoul.” He summarized their approach as that of students ready to learn.
