Namseoul University has launched a Global Tourism Promotion Team made up largely of international students, marking a fresh turning point for promoting tourism across South Chungcheong Province (Chungnam).
On the 9th, the university hosted a kickoff at its Knowledge and Information Center and officially began promotional activities tied to Visit Chungnam Year 2025–2026.
With a high proportion of international students involved, the team will leverage native languages to showcase Chungnam’s attractions and produce content aimed at drawing overseas visitors.
Their work will be organized into focused tracks: spotlighting categorized attractions, uncovering hidden gems through the ‘Sumport’ initiative, and creating food-focused stories with the Chungnam Gourmet Exploration team.
Students will serve as on-the-ground docents—conducting site reporting and producing short videos, photo essays, and snackable card posts to share across social media and amplify global reach.
Chungnam Province is also expanding its tourism supporter program, and officials hope this university–local government collaboration becomes a model for revitalizing regional tourism.
Professor Bae Seong-hwa said, “The participation of globally minded young people will play a key role in boosting Chungnam’s international profile. This is also an opportunity to introduce the concept of peace tourism to the world.”
