Experience the 2026 Okjeongho Cherry Blossom Festival: A Guide to Spring Fun and Local Delicacies
Daniel Kim Views

Imsil County is rolling out a cherry-blossom festival around Okjeongho — think interactive workshops, live performances, and delicious local food, all designed to draw springtime visitors.
The county says the two-day event will run from the 11th to the 12th at a pop-up site near the Okjeongho suspension bridge. Under the theme “Okjeongho: Imsil in Bloom Again,” the festival pairs performances and hands-on programming with promotions of regional specialties.
Day one features genre-hopping sets — traditional Korean music (gugak), jazz, and K-pop — along with an opening ceremony and a guest artist performance. Day two spotlights bands and high-energy percussion acts, and wraps up with a community-focused singing contest that highlights local talent.
Organizers have amped up the festival’s interactive offerings: retro costume rentals and photo-op sessions, street-style busking, and family-friendly activities. The flea market and experience zones will showcase handmade crafts and host workshops like perfume and candle making, plus nail art.
Eats at the festival will center on local flavors. Food trucks will serve cheese-forward snacks, and partnerships with nearby hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurants will encourage visitors to dine locally. Separate activities will be available for guests attending with pets.
To improve access, the county will run shuttle buses during the festival and station safety personnel on-site.
