Singer Younha said she was visibly nervous after appearing on JTBC’s Hidden Singer 8.
On the evening of the 7th, JTBC’s variety program featured Younha as the original artist, where she faced off against several accomplished impersonators.
Long the top choice among fans to appear on the show, Younha finally appeared as the second original artist on Hidden Singer 8, fulfilling a 14-year wish for the series.
When asked why she was appearing only now, Younha said, “It wasn’t my decision — I can only do the show if impersonators are available,” expressing regret. She added that she especially wanted to appear because her father is a big fan of the program.
She admitted she couldn’t sleep from nerves. “In the teaser quiz the correct answer was me, but quite a few people didn’t guess right. I knew it would be tough,” she said, her anxiety on display.
JTBC’s Hidden Singer 8 is a fresh-format music show that pits Korea’s leading singers against impersonators who can faithfully reproduce a singer’s voice and vocal style. The series airs every Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. KST.
