[Sports Today reporter Shin Seo-young] On April 7, the Korean Red Cross, led by Acting President Kim Hong-guk, announced it has named 12 players as ambassadors for the \”2026 18th KLPGA promotional models\” program to boost humanitarian efforts and promote a culture of giving.
The appointed ambassadors are Kim Min-sol, Lim Hee-jung, Park Gyeol, Park Hye-jun, Lee Yu-rin (all Doosan Construction We’ve), Park Min-ji and Lee Ga-young (both NH Investment & Securities), Park Hyun-kyung and Bae So-hyun (both Mediheal), Yoo Hyun-jo (Lotte), Lee Se-hee (Samchunri), and Hong Jung-min (Korea Land Trust) — 12 players in total. Their appointments run through December 31, 2026.
Over the coming year, the group will team up with the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) for charity tournaments, volunteer activities and other events designed to raise awareness of Red Cross humanitarian programs and encourage charitable giving.
Among the players, Park Hyun-kyung and Lim Hee-jung have served the longest, marking their sixth consecutive year as ambassadors. Lee Ga-young is on her fifth straight year, while Park Min-ji has participated four times overall, missing only the 2023 campaign.
Kim Min-sol, Lee Se-hee, Lee Yu-rin and Hong Jung-min are first-time ambassadors this year. The Red Cross noted that one of the newly appointed players previously made a significant anonymous donation to help those in need.
Park Jong-sul, secretary general of the Korean Red Cross, said the continued involvement of KLPGA players has been a driving force in spreading a culture of giving, and pledged ongoing cooperation to promote humanitarian values.
Since signing a social contribution agreement in 2021, the Korean Red Cross and the KLPGA have continued their partnership to expand donation culture and support humanitarian projects.
Notably, several KLPGA ambassadors have supported vulnerable communities and disaster relief through charity tournaments and personal donations.
