[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN punctuated their world tour with a vow to keep going — and a showy, celebratory finale.

On the afternoon of April 5, the group staged the encore for SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR ‘NEW_’ ENCORE at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium in Yeonhui-dong, Seo-gu. Nine members — S.Coups, Joshua, Jun, The8, Mingyu, DK (Dokyeom), Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino — performed. Four members are currently fulfilling military service; Jeonghan and Wonwoo attended on leave and cheered from the audience, while Woozi and Hoshi remain enlisted and were absent.

The tour, which launched at the same stadium last September, grew into a global run that hit 14 major cities — including Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium, Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium and Japan’s four dome venues — and drew roughly 840,000 fans across online and offline platforms. The two-night encore alone packed tens of thousands of CARATs (SEVENTEEN’s fandom), and the crowd rising to wave light sticks created an unforgettable tableau.

Seungkwan opened the evening by framing the night as the end of a long journey, promising the group would give everything onstage with no regrets. Joshua warmed the crowd up, saying the cold wouldn’t matter if everyone let loose. Jun added that although it was a bit chilly, they’d make the stage feel warm.

S.Coups quipped that it felt less cold than the previous night and invited fans to embrace even a romantic rain if it came. Noting that the cheering had sounded quieter earlier, he rallied the audience to raise the energy — and they responded.

Vernon urged fans to enjoy the last show without reservation. Mingyu thanked the audience for filling the massive stadium and encouraged everyone to stand, dance and sing along. The8 expressed gratitude for the turnout and said he hoped the night would become a lasting memory.

Dino asked fans to blow off the stress of everyday life and promised a night of fun, while DK rallied the crowd for a full-on celebration to mark the final day.

The encore differentiated itself from the main tour with fresh staging and setlist tweaks that emphasized SEVENTEEN’s strengths as consummate live performers. The newly added hit “Son Ogong” ignited the crowd early. Unit stages — such as the loose, kinetic S.Coups x Mingyu performance of “5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman)” and the intimate, emotional DK x Seungkwan rendition of “Blue” — highlighted the group’s versatility and expanded sonic palette.

Fans received a special keepsake: a SEVENTEEN hologram card that mirrored the group’s logo in the stage lighting. Framed with the team emblem and inscribed with members’ handwritten notes, the card heightened the immersive concert experience.

Solo stages felt more polished and mature, reflecting the members’ growth over the tour. Their individual styles and strengths were clearer than ever, and the performances suggested significant artistic development ahead. High-voltage numbers like “THUNDER,” “HOT” and “HIT” combined sharp choreography, a vibrant live band and striking production design to deliver catharsis.

After “HIT,” Seungkwan joked that Jun pulled off one of the most impressive splits he’d ever seen; Jun recreated the move and quipped he could have gone another 15 cm wider, prompting laughter. Mingyu said that while watching Jun from behind, a moment reminded him of Jeonghan, evoking the member who is currently serving in the military.

Dino noted that the CARATs’ cheering felt especially powerful that night, saying the group’s energy synced with the audience’s.

The encore’s themes stressed endurance and renewal. Opening with “April Shower,” a song inspired by the proverb “April showers bring May flowers,” the set celebrated SEVENTEEN’s journey ahead of their 11th anniversary in May and hinted at a future when all 13 members will be back together.

“WORLD (_WORLD)” envisioned a new realm for SEVENTEEN and CARATs to explore together. The song “Whirlwind” promised to seek out a beloved even through turbulent winds, which flowed into the consoling message of “Round and Round” — that sorrow passes and joy returns. The finale, “Very NICE,” closed the night on an exultant high.

Toward the end of the show, Seungkwan reflected on the emotional weight of the moment. He said performing and receiving long-term love no longer feels automatic, which only strengthens his resolve to work harder for CARATs. Calling fans “a big reason I keep going,” he added that the final night felt so poignant “even the sky seems to be crying.” He asked fans to continue supporting the members as they pursue individual activities and sent love to Jeonghan and Wonwoo.

Dino recalled debuting at 17 and now being 28, marveling that streaming platforms carrying their music still feels surreal. He thanked fans for the love that enabled him to support his family and meet the group he calls brothers. He said he revisits that gratitude every night and will carry the responsibility of the fans’ love forward.

Most notably, leader S.Coups used the moment to announce major news: after deep discussions, all 13 members have agreed to renew their contracts. Reflecting on whether he’d been a good leader over the past 11 years, S.Coups said the group wanted to share the decision with CARATs first and promised they would “row harder” together going forward.

Joshua said the scale of their current stages sometimes makes him pause and think, “When did we get this big?” He credited CARATs for the group’s growing catalog and for making the contract renewal possible, asking fans to wait a little longer for the full 13 to reunite.

Jun thanked fans for braving the cold and rain, admitting he usually dislikes rainy days but that being with CARATs made it enjoyable. He described revisiting difficult moments as “a happy kind of worry” and promised even stronger performances ahead.

The8 called the night emotionally rich, praised his bandmates for eleven years of hard work, and likened falling cherry blossoms to renewal rather than an ending. He urged fans not to be sad and promised SEVENTEEN would continue growing beside CARATs until they could all be together again.

Mingyu reflected on how the fanbase has broadened since debut and said he was glad the final show ended with joy. He hoped fans would remember past years fondly and said the group wants to keep earning their love.

DK summed up the tour as joyful and bittersweet. He said he wouldn’t forget the time spent with the members and vowed not to cry that night. Though this was the final concert of the run, he promised SEVENTEEN would regroup, mount a comeback and return stronger.

After the encore, the group’s schedule remains busy. Unit DK x Seungkwan (Meboz) will open DxS ‘Soya-gok’ ON STAGE at Incheon Inspire Arena from April 17–19. S.Coups x Mingyu will play Kaohsiung Arena from April 24–26 with CxM ‘DOUBLE UP’ LIVE PARTY, having already kicked off their unit shows earlier.

The full group will reunite for a major fan event: SEVENTEEN will return to Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on June 20–21 for 2026 SEVENTEEN 10TH FAN MEETING ‘SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND.’
