[Sports Today reporter Shin Seo-young] FC Seoul and FC Anyang played to a 1-1 draw in the season’s first regional derby.
The match, a Round 6 fixture of the Hana Bank K League 1 2026 season, was played at Anyang Sports Complex on April 5.
Seoul, which had its four-game winning streak snapped, remains atop the table with a 4-1-0 record and 13 points.
Anyang, which ended a run of losses, climbed to eighth with a 1-3-2 record and six points.
The game drew plenty of attention as a regional derby between two clubs with linked histories.
FC Seoul’s predecessor, Anyang LG, relocated to Seoul in 2004. After LG left, Anyang supporters formed a civic club in 2013 that evolved into today’s FC Anyang.
With the first half heading toward a scoreless finish, Seoul broke the deadlock late. In the 44th minute, goalkeeper Goo Seong-yun launched a long goal kick that caromed off an Anyang defender. Klimala pounced on the loose ball and finished to give Seoul the lead.
Anyang answered after halftime, replacing Kang Ji-hoon and Han Ga-ram with Ailton and Kim Young-chan to push forward.
Seoul responded with changes of its own, bringing on Jo Young-wook and Park Sung-hoon for Huiz and Yazan.
Anyang found its equalizer while pressing for a chance. In the 77th minute, Ailton met Mateus’s corner with a headed finish to level the score.
In stoppage time, Park Jung-hoon rattled the left post with a right-footed shot, and Anyang’s late hope went unfulfilled. The match finished 1-1.
At Incheon Football Stadium, Incheon United beat visiting Gimcheon Sangmu 2-1.
Incheon notched a second straight win and moved up to fifth place with a 2-1-3 record and seven points.
Gimcheon remained winless through six matches, sitting 11th with a 0-5-1 record and five points.
Incheon rode two first-half goals from Mugosa to the victory.
Gimcheon got on the board early in the second half when Ko Jae-hyun pulled one back in the 55th minute, but they could not complete the comeback.
