Nexen Group boosts tennis shoe performance using about 80 years of tire expertise
Nexen Tire announced on the 27th that it has launched the high-performance tennis shoe Le Court Advanced (LE COURT ADVANCED), developed in collaboration with global sports brand Le Coq Sportif.
The Le Court Advanced applies Nexen Group’s electric-vehicle tire technology to enhance the shoe’s outsole (the bottom part of the shoe).
Nexen Tire and Nexen created a high-performance outsole compound using functional materials — a rubber composite that mixes multiple tire raw materials — while Le Coq Sportif handled the outsole’s design and structural engineering.
On the court, tennis shoes need excellent abrasion resistance and reliable traction because players make quick direction changes and face constant friction.
By bringing tire technology into the outsole, Nexen Group fine-tuned the shoe’s on-court performance.
During development, Nexen also registered a patent for the special outsole compound.
Le Court Advanced is available at Le Coq Sportif stores nationwide, the brand’s official online mall, and major online platforms like Musinsa and 29CM.
To mark the launch, Nexen Tire is running a giveaway on its official Instagram and will randomly select winners to receive a pair.
“We planned this collaboration with Le Coq Sportif so people can experience Nexen Tire’s technology in everyday life,” a Nexen Tire spokesperson said. “We’ll continue partnering with various brands to present our innovative technology in a more approachable way.”
