Asiana, Jin Air, Eastar among carriers expanding cuts
[Asia Times = Mina Kim] Jeju Air is trimming service on three Southeast Asian routes in May and June. With jet fuel prices surging amid tensions in the Middle East, airlines across the industry are scaling back international capacity.

Industry sources said on the 1st that Jeju Air will cut back flights from Incheon to Hanoi, Bangkok and Singapore during May and June.
Starting May 12 through June 30, Jeju Air will reduce the Incheon–Hanoi route from seven weekly flights to four, eliminating a total of 44 flights during that period.
The Incheon–Bangkok service will also be trimmed from seven to four weekly flights from May 8 through June 30, a reduction of 48 flights. The Incheon–Singapore route will drop from seven to four weekly flights from May 8 to May 26, cutting 18 flights.
These moves mirror a broader industry trend of scaling back international schedules. Earlier, Asiana Airlines announced one-time cuts totaling 14 round trips across four international routes in April and May: Incheon–Phnom Penh (2), Incheon–Changchun (7), Incheon–Harbin (3) and Incheon–Yanji (2).
Jin Air plans temporary reductions from the 4th through the 30th of this month, cutting 45 round-trip flights across eight international routes, including Incheon–Guam, Incheon–Clark, Incheon–Nha Trang and Busan–Cebu. Eastar Jet will suspend its Incheon–Phu Quoc service entirely from May 5 until the end of May.
Air Busan will halt Busan–Da Nang, Busan–Cebu and Busan–Guam services starting this month. Air Premia will reduce some frequencies on flights from Incheon to Los Angeles, Honolulu, San Francisco and New York during April and May. Aero K also plans to cut certain frequencies on four international routes departing Cheongju from this month through June 23.
