On April 1, Musinsa announced it has added a fashion industry veteran with both domestic and international experience to its board as a new outside director. The company says the hire strengthens board-led transparency and accountability while accelerating its global expansion.

At its 14th annual shareholders’ meeting on March 31, Musinsa officially appointed Park Chang-geun as an outside director. The move, the company adds, puts into practice its twin goals of modernizing corporate governance and deepening fashion expertise.

Park is one of South Korea’s most prominent fashion executives. For more than 30 years, he’s helped global brands enter the Korean market and pushed Korean labels onto the international stage.

His résumé includes roles as vice president of Cheil Industries, CEO of Levi Strauss Japan, and president of Levi’s Korea. He’s also helped shape global strategies for major brands like MCM, NEPA, and Dr. Martens.

Park has contributed to education as well, serving as a visiting professor in the Department of Clothing and Textiles at Seoul National University and mentoring the next generation of industry talent.

With Park on board, Musinsa has increased its number of outside directors to four, boosting the board’s independence and industry know-how.

Musinsa’s board now has 10 members: three inside directors, four outside directors, and three other non-executive directors. The board oversees several subcommittees, including audit, executive compensation, outside director nominations, internal transactions, and ESG.
