On March 30, V posted a video to his personal account with an English caption: “This time I won’t make excuses — I’m really going to focus.”
The clip shows him tuning into an online English conversation class early in the morning. He listens intently to a native speaker, then repeats phrases aloud, clearly focused and eager to improve.
Fans flooded social media with supportive messages, many expressing admiration for his candidness and determination.
The post carried added resonance after designer Lee Jung-woo — actress Jun Ji-hyun’s mother-in-law — recently drew attention for a post on her personal account that read, “The leader who speaks English, and the kids who still can’t even after 10 years.”
Lee later defended the remark, saying it was a lighthearted moment among the members during a Weverse Live. “I laughed — it was funny — so I posted it to my story,” she wrote, and she also disclosed she’s been an ARMY for 10 years, which helped defuse the controversy.
Meanwhile, BTS marked their comeback on March 21 with “BTS Comeback Live: Arirang” at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.
