[Sports Today reporter Song O-jung] Announcer Eom Ji-in is set to adopt an alter ego: Eom Young-ja.
At a KBS1 press event on the morning of the 30th at the broadcaster’s Yeouido headquarters in Seoul, Eom outlined plans to expand into YouTube as part of a refresh of the KBS1 morning program, Achim Madang.
Eom said, \”It’s been three years since we relaunched Achim Madang, and I’ve been with the company for 20 years.\” She added, \”The fact we’re holding a press conference like this shows how much the show has evolved.\”
She also announced the launch of an original digital series titled Yeongja Shop. Eom explained, \”I wanted a channel to communicate more directly with viewers, so I’m launching a YouTube channel — and I’ll be transforming into my alter ego, Eom Young-ja.\”
The series will feature behind-the-scenes footage from the broadcast and post-show conversations with guests.
Eom said she hopes to shake off the perception that Achim Madang is only watched by parents. \”Since viewers can’t always catch the live broadcast, we’ll publish more content on YouTube and aim for viral reach,\” she said, promising a slate of digital content designed to engage younger audiences.
