[MyDaily = Reporter Bang Geum-sook] Lotte Department Store announced on March 25 that it has opened Van Cleef & Arpels and Graff boutiques on the first floor of its flagship store.
Van Cleef & Arpels, founded in France in 1906, is a haute-jewelry house celebrated for its timeless designs and meticulous craftsmanship. At the flagship location, shoppers can explore the brand’s signature collections and enjoy a Parisian-inspired boutique atmosphere, including a striking black façade.
U.K.-based Graff is known for its expertise in rare diamonds and for overseeing every stage—from rough mining to cutting and sale. The flagship salon offers a private room to provide premium, bespoke service for clients seeking discretion and personalization.
By adding these newcomers to an already strong lineup that includes Cartier, Tiffany, and Bulgari, Lotte Department Store plans to aggressively pursue the high-jewelry market in Gangbuk.
High jewelry is drawing attention not just as fashion but as an asset, and Lotte Department Store’s high-jewelry sales from January through March rose more than 35% year over year.
Through April 6, the store is hosting a “High Jewelry Fair,” where 19 brands—including Cartier, Tiffany, and Bulgari—will present limited-edition collections and other pieces totaling 38 billion KRW (about 28.5 million USD).
Cho Hyung-ju, head of Lotte Department Store’s luxury division, said, “Opening Van Cleef & Arpels and Graff at the same time demonstrates our flagship store’s competitiveness in the Gangbuk high-jewelry market. We will continue expanding our high-jewelry brand portfolio to offer customers not just purchases but truly special experiences.”
