[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] Lee Hwi-jae made his return to ‘Immortal Songs.’
On the March 28 broadcast of KBS2’s variety show ‘Immortal Songs’ (hereafter ‘Immortal Songs’), Lee Hwi-jae appeared for the first time after a four-year hiatus.
During the opening, the hosts announced, \”Finally, this person is here on ‘Immortal Songs,’\” and introduced Lee Hwi-jae. Jo Hye-ryeon greeted him warmly, saying, \”You’re loyal—so loyal,\” while Lee Chan-won recalled, \”I worked with him when I made my MC debut.\”
When Hong Seok-cheon teased, \”Apologize for where you’ve been all this time,\” Lee Hwi-jae replied sheepishly, \”I’m sorry.\” Jo Hye-ryeon quipped, \”Next to Park Jun-hyung, he’s practically pale—it’s like black and white. He’s a ‘black-and-white chef,’\” drawing laughs.
Lee Hwi-jae then formally introduced himself. \”It’s been a long time. It’s great to be back—I’m Lee Hwi-jae,\” he said. \”To be honest, saying I’ve been doing well would be a lie. Going back and forth between my children and my wife has given me a lot of time to reflect.\”
He added, \”After I got the invitation call, I even had a massage. Coming back after such a long break feels completely different. The lights used to be so hot they’d make me sweat, but they aren’t like that anymore.\”
