[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] Singer-songwriter Ha Hyun-sang previewed his forthcoming album with a spare, cool aesthetic that hints at broader artistic growth.
Ha Hyun-sang recently unveiled three sequential concept photos on his official social channels ahead of the April 6 release of his second full-length album, New Boat.
The images find him moving effortlessly between a restrained, classic mood; a rebellious look emphasizing free styling; and intimate, everyday moments—showcasing an elevated visual sensibility.
With a nonchalant gaze and natural gestures, he underscored his signature understated image while demonstrating a maturing expressive range and strong command of varied concepts.
New Boat is Ha Hyun-sang’s first full-length album in roughly three years and centers on themes of new beginnings and journeys. Musically, he expands his palette by combining a band-driven sound with elements of rock, gospel, and pop balladry.
He contributed to every track, reinforcing his identity as a singer-songwriter, and widened the album’s sonic scope through a new collaboration with producer Kim Joon-won, who is known for shaping trends with stylish, contemporary productions.
Ahead of the April 6 release, Ha Hyun-sang will present the archive live show New Boat (2026 HA HYUN SANG Archive Live ‘New Boat’) at Seoul Olympic Park’s Olympic Hall from April 3–5.
