[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] K-pop supergroup BTS returned to New York’s Manhattan for a full-group performance — their first complete U.S. show since their April 2022 concert in Las Vegas, four years ago.
On the 23rd (local time), the group appeared at the \”Spotify X BTS: Swimside\” event on the Pier 17 rooftop in Manhattan, hosted by Spotify, where they greeted local ARMY, their global fandom.
The event welcomed 1,000 fans invited by Spotify. BTS, who released their fifth studio album Arirang on the 20th, performed the album’s title single \”SWIM\” along with \”NORMAL,\” \”FYA\” and \”2.0.\”
Jungkook said he was thrilled to be back on a U.S. stage after a long absence, shouting in English, \”What a beautiful ARMY.\”
V said the group was happy to perform in the U.S. again and that hearing the energy and cheers from ARMY made them very glad.
Jimin called the moment a joyful one and said he felt honored to finally present the stage to fans.
RM explained that the messages he hopes ARMY will take away from Arirang are simple: \”We are here,\” and \”We are all here together.\”
Meanwhile, BTS wrapped a comeback show at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on the 21st and departed for the U.S. on the 22nd. The group is scheduled to appear on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on the 26th and 27th.
