MODA created through public participation — a friendly channel for council communication; social media and promotional materials to be used across platforms, expected to enhance the council's image

The Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council has created a promotional character named MODA to engage residents more directly and make its legislative work feel more approachable.
Framed as a “communication helper” and the “zeroth councilor,” MODA takes its name from the local Gyeongsangnam dialect word moeuda, meaning “to gather.” The name and design were selected after soliciting input from residents, underscoring the character’s role in collecting public opinion and facilitating dialogue.
The council plans to use the character to communicate its activities in simpler, more engaging ways. Through social media content, card-style news items, and a range of promotional materials, it aims to shorten the distance between residents and the council, raise public awareness, and encourage participation and support.
Beginning at the end of this month, the council will publish 30 application image files of the character on its website and make them available for residents to use.
Chairman Choi Hak-beom said, “We hope the newly created promotional character MODA will help the council connect with residents more warmly,” and he urged residents to show interest and support for MODA’s activities.
