[Sports Today Reporter Kang Tae-gu] Kiwoom erupted for eight runs in the eighth inning to beat the KT Wiz, 11-4.
Kiwoom defeated KT 11-4 on the 19th at Suwon’s KT Wiz Park in a 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League exhibition game.
With the win, Kiwoom moved to 2-1-4 (W-T-L), while KT fell to last place at 1-2-4.
Kiwoom starter Kim Yun-ha worked three innings, allowing two hits (one home run), striking out one, walking two and yielding one run.
At the plate, Lee Ju-hyung and Kim Keon Hee each had multi-hit games, and pinch-hitters Seo Geon-chang and Chu Jae-hyun delivered key hits to help seal the victory.
KT starter Boschili tossed five solid innings, giving up four hits (one homer), striking out four, issuing no walks and allowing one run, leaving without a decision.
KT struck first with a homer. In the bottom of the first, with two outs and nobody on, Ahn Hyun-min turned on Kim Yun-ha’s 146 km/h fastball and sent a solo shot over the left-field fence.
Kiwoom responded with a long ball of its own. In the top of the third, with two outs and no runners, Lee Ju-hyung crushed Boschili’s seventh pitch — a 136 km/h changeup — for a center-field solo homer that tied the game.
KT regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth. After Kim Sang-su’s single and Heo Kyung-min’s double put runners on second and third with one out, Han Seung-taek brought in a run with a sacrifice fly to center, making it 2-1.
Kiwoom answered in the seventh. With two outs and a runner on first, Eo Jun-seo drew a walk to put a runner in scoring position, and Kim Keon Hee followed with a two-run double to give Kiwoom a 3-2 lead.
KT quickly tied it. In the bottom of the seventh, Lee Kang-min reached on a hit and was replaced by pinch-runner Kwon Dong-jin, who advanced to second on a wild pitch. Kim Hyun-soo then drove in a run with a double to make it 3-3.
Kiwoom blew the game open in the eighth with an eight-run outburst. It started with a walk to Lee Hyung-jong and a single by An Chi-hong that put runners at the corners with no outs. Pinch-hitter Seo Geon-chang followed with an RBI double, and Chu Jae-hyun added a two-run hit to push the lead to 6-3.
Yang Hyun-jong reached on an infield single and Park Joo-hong walked to load the bases. Kim Tae-jin then delivered a two-run RBI single, and Oh Sun-jin’s hit, combined with bases-loaded walks to Lee Hyung-jong and An Chi-hong and another wild pitch, extended the cushion to 11-3.
KT added two runs in the bottom of the eighth after two outs — Ryu Hyun-in’s double and Son Min-seok’s RBI single — but couldn’t mount a further comeback. The game ended with Kiwoom on top, 11-4.
