Jeju SK FC’s 2026 K League 1 home opener was a sizzling affair, despite challenging weather conditions. Rain and strong winds may have lowered the temperature, but they couldn’t dampen the fans’ enthusiasm for the revamped Jeju World Cup Stadium.
The official attendance hit an impressive 8,891, surpassing last year’s average of 7,153 spectators. Fans who braved the elements to pack the stadium were quick to note the significant improvements.
This season’s standout change is the enhanced fan experience. Jeju SK transformed parts of the stadium into a premium viewing area by introducing lounge table seats. These indoor spots, complete with catering service, sold out well before kickoff due to high demand.
The upgraded food court zone was a hit, with fans flocking to sample a wider variety of offerings. A new QR ordering system streamlined purchases, while dedicated seating areas allowed families to dine comfortably right after ordering.
A new “sports pub” in the W section quickly became a fan favorite. Large TVs and tables allowed spectators to enjoy live coverage without missing a moment of action, all while sipping beers and munching on snacks.
The club’s merchandise game stepped up too. New items like the cheeky “Just Touring?” scarf, reusable bags, and player-themed keycaps flew off the shelves. A newly opened gacha shop added an element of fun, giving fans another reason to explore the stadium.
Jeju SK’s goal this season is clear: transform the stadium from a mere venue into an immersive experience. The opener’s success validates this approach. Even in less-than-ideal weather, fans turned out in force, rewarding the club’s thoughtful improvements with their presence and enthusiasm.
A Jeju SK spokesperson stated, “We’ve prepared a variety of events for the 2026 season to keep our fans engaged. One supporter told us, ‘Jeju’s home field isn’t just a stadium anymore – it’s become a weekend cultural hotspot.’ We’re thrilled to see our efforts resonating with the fans. We’ll continue to innovate and create new ways to capture their hearts and imaginations.”
