Broadcaster Park Na-rae, 40, is set to face police questioning as a defendant.
Park’s representatives announced on the 10th, “She is scheduled to appear at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul at 2:30 PM on the 12th. This marks her first time being investigated as a defendant.” They further elaborated, “There are a total of eight cases involving Park Na-rae. Six are being handled by the Gangnam Police Station, while two are under investigation at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul.”
The statement confirms that out of the eight cases related to Park Na-rae, six are being processed at the Gangnam Police Station, with the remaining two at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul.
Park Na-rae is currently embroiled in allegations of mistreating her former managers and receiving illegal medical treatments from an individual known as “Injection Aunt.” Two ex-managers filed a lawsuit last December at the Seoul Western District Court, seeking approximately 100 million KRW (75,000 USD) in damages and requesting a lien on real estate assets, citing unpaid fees and prescription-related issues. They’ve also reported Park to the Gangnam Police Station, accusing her of aggravated assault, defamation through false statements, and violating laws concerning information and communication network promotion and information protection.
In a counteraction, Park Na-rae has filed complaints against her former managers at the Yongsan Police Station, accusing them of extortion and embezzlement.
In a related development, one of Park’s former managers, identified as “A,” underwent a second round of questioning as a defendant at the Yongsan Police Station the previous day. Sources indicate that A had left for the United States on December 22 last year and recently returned to Korea. Speculation is growing that both parties may face a confrontational interrogation in the near future.
As a result of these ongoing investigations, Park Na-rae has put her broadcasting career on hold. She has stepped away from popular shows like MBC TV’s “I Live Alone” and tvN’s “Amazing Saturday.” Recently, she was spotted attending a makgeolli (Korean rice wine) brewing academy. Fans can still catch Park in the upcoming Disney+ series “Destiny War 49,” set to premiere on the 11th, as it was pre-produced and will feature her without edits.
